Trans Earrings

To be able to witness the trans experience up close feels something like watching god creating god.

In speaking to someone about their trans experience, he mentioned it feeling like being a walking monument. The stopping and staring at such a sacred embodiment. The fear it stirs up, and anger as a response. Confusion. Awe. Curiosity. The loss for words.

I feel: isn’t that how we as a collective also experience the religious western God?

What that God has unearthed in us is a sacred complication of perspectives. A rainbow of experiences I might dare to say.

And if there is a surrendering to the trigger of witnessing another’s beautiful becoming, it comes with it a wisdom of allowing. Allowing the self to become what the Spirit has always known. It explores: what freedoms can be created with just the body?

the transformation and chiseling of the body, mind, and heart in order to fit the version of the god reflected within. The sacred desire to become one with what the Soul calls to become. Knowing the monument will get knocked down intentionally or unintentionally to be recreated again and again. Changed and evolved again and again. All while being witnessed in real time by those who knew, know, and will know.

The trans experience, I feel, is a deeper embodiment of this chiseling.

And in that chiseling, friends lovers and family, may you be protected in the witnessing of your becoming — taped, tucked, torn, stitched & all.
